I have a 92 with an auto and it has a switch on the console that says power and economy, does anyone know what this switch controls? When I switch it nothings happens but a light in the cluster comes on but no difference in engine rpm or performance. This is a 1.8l. What can I do to trouble-shoot this? Thanks in advance

 

"supposedly" it would help mileage but i have never heard of anything changing really. I have the same thing in my car and i dont think it does anything

 

think it changes your shift pattern higher shift point in power under hard acceleration

 

I believe DSMTuner is right. Id just bypass it... especially with that motor... itsa fairly useless option.
