really i just wanna know. my frend has a 1994 z28 and i have a 92 gsx. im a total newb so bare with me. if your going to respond please make sure it is helpful. really i just want to know what it takes to beat it and how much money in a rough estimate. he says his camaro has 350hp. but i think he is bsin me. what do you guys think?

 

According to Kbb the stock hp for a z28 is 275 and 325 ft/lb. You have 180 Hp and 195 ft/lb. i would say if you spend around $800 on an exhaust, boost controller and intercooler yo could take him.

i'm pretty sure its going to take allitle more than 800 dollars to beat that. First off , just from what he said A good exhaust system (greddy, hks) which you would want turbo back, will cost you around 600 dollars. Then if you really want a front mount, not that it would be an incredible hp gain, thats going to cost another 500 maybe for a cheaper kit. Then the manual boost controller another 50-100. So there you already have about $1,100.

Now personally i would not get the front mount. I would definetly get just the turbo back exhaust, intake, and MBC. I had just these on my tsi-awd and i was able to keep up with an evo on the highway. And i was able to beat a 5.slow mustang. Your friends z28 is said to run a 14.9 stock 1/4 mile. Your car runs about a 15.1 stock. So the exuast itself should be enough, But just to really beat him i'd at least go with what i said.

You have to worry about going from a roll. A friend of mine had a 94 lt1 firebird and he would walk me on the highway, and he ran a 14.0 in the 1/4mile. You'll atleast need full exhaust, injectors w/SAFC, fuel pump, and BC, and other supporting mods if he is stock.

 

IF YOU ARE RACING FROM A STOP YOU WILL STAY AHEAD UP TO AROUND 70-80MPH BECAUSE OF THE LAUNCH, THEN HES GONNA BLOW U AWAY. LT1'S ARENT THAT FAST, BUT FASTER THAN A STOCK GSX. ID SAY DONT WORRY ABOUT THE EXHAUST YET, GET INTAKE, UPPER IC PIPE, BOV, AND BOOST CONTROLLER, AND TAKE SOME WEIGHT OUT (SPARE TIRE, SEATS ETC) YOU SHOULD BEAT HIM

 

Did you just not read anything else people posted???? He needs exhaust, and what the hell good is UIP and BOV gonna do?? NOTHING!! He WILL NOT beat the Z with the modds you listed. If the camaro has as much HP as the kid says, he might even need a turbo upgrade to get the necessary top end.
