100k miles
i just turned 100k miles in my GS and i was looking at turboing the engine with one of the hahn stage 1 or 2 turbos. i was wondering how many miles are the eclipse engines usually good for and how much life i would lose to the car if i do this. thanks.

not to be a dick but one word.... no.... buy a gs-t or gs-x or dont have a turbo... that advice will save you more money in the long run (hint... BOOM)

way to much money where i come from it is a 3-4 grand differance between a gs and gs-t/gsx. that means i can rebuild the motor for a turbo and place a turbokit on it with the parts you replace on a gs-t/gsx and be at the same price where if i bought a gs-t/gsx i would be buying 2 turbokits spending anywhere from 2-3 grand more than a gs with the same mods and i got a new motor. why would he do that? also the trouble of finding a gs-t/gsx puts him out a car for a little bit of time also while rebuilding motor he will have a little down time so either way he has down time. I would keep the car u got and rebuild it for a turbo $1300 and than put turbo on it. from what i have seen at the races his car turboed would do 13.5 or lower.

its a trade off buy a gsx/gs-t and you might end up with somone elses probelms causing you to spend more than do your mods which the hahun kit comes with now once more you buy 2 turbo kits, or you can have the same maby a little more down time rebuild the motor for a turbo and turbo it with a kit that has the mods all the gs-t/gsx guys are swaping the stock parts out for.
if you ask me the new motor sounds like the better deal who says the gsx/gs-t he buys dosnt blow up because some dumb *** he bought it from treated it like **** now he has to do the motor anyways. Choose one and go with it.

well saying he rebuilds the motor... great say he saves 1000 dollars.. he still does not have the gs-t/gs-x suspension... you will need to replace the clutch in the gs because it cannot take a 210 or more horsepower load.. saying you forge all the internals and actually build it right there is NO WAY that you can get it done for less than 1500.... the turbo kit itself will be around or over 2000 so tell me that this is less trouble that buying a gst that is already built for race and sport... ?? by the way i got my gs-t with 150000 on a well running engine with a perfect body for 3000.. so i dont know how you cant get one for 4 or 5 thousand..

RE: 100k miles
so ill need to engine swap or rebuild the engine with piston rods, bearings, etc. then installing the turbo should be fine?
if i do engine swap should i stick with the 420a engine? i hear that a swap to the 4g63 is one hell of a job.
