Default 1995 Eclipse Dies on Interstate at 75MPH

Ok here is the problem. I have a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS non-turbo 2.0 liter DOHC motor and lately the motor has been dying on me. Problem usually happens when I am driving down the interstate at 75MPH and all of a sudden the RPMs will drop down to 0 like the motor has been killed. Sometimes it will startup automatically as I am driving and sometime I have to come to a complete stop and restart the engine, I am not able to restart the engine while the car is in motion. Lately I have had to come to a complete stop and wait about 10-15min before the engine will restart. I have tried replacing the fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, & the crank shaft sensor not helping the problem at all. When the car dies the check engine light doesn’t come on so there is no way for me to pull a code from the computer. I have taken it to the local Mitsubishi dealer in town and they haven’t been able to diagnose the problem. This issue is very sporadic and only happens maybe once a month. Any help would be appreciated. Also when I am sitting at a stop light or a stop sign the RPMs will fluctuate a tinny bit. When I first purchased the car the lady that owned it before me blew the timing belt and the whole top half of the motor was replaced. Please Help. Thanks

That was going to be my question. I would say ECU or something computer related

The problem happens all the time, not just when its raining. But last weekend I took a road trip about 200 miles and it was very muggy and humid outside and my car really seemed to act up. I felt like the car was jerking the whole 200 miles, almost like there was air bubbles in the gas line.

It is most likely is a crankshaft or camshaft sensor... make sure when you change them use Auhentic or as close to original as possible and not from a website. and if thats not it put the original ones back and check the rellays by the brake fluid.. when changing the rellays i would use the spcific ones and not the universal because most likely they wont work..

Thank you so much, after 6-7 years I'm sure he was dying to get your response.
