2g 4g63t in 97 Spyder GS?

Default 2g 4g63t in 97 Spyder GS?

Will the 2g 4g63T engine bolt to the tranny of the 97 Spyder GS? It came stock with the 4g64 but I don't like it. Thought of doing the head swap but it seems like a big headache. Not sure about the ECU and wiring harness either.

Hey man thats a project and a half the tranny I am pretty sure will not fit the 4G63 block and the ECU and harness is gotta be differaunt for many reasons (ie turbo fuel ect) I say go to Eclipseforum.com and contact JohnnyBgood overthere I makes custom turbo kits for eclipsr with the 4G64 he is a great vender very highly appraised from all 3G eclipse owners..Johnny owns forced induction autosports or FIAS check out his site at http://www.fiautosports.com/3g.html or http://www.fiautosports.com/turbos.html....the

Trust me if you are considering all the work of swapping in a motor just contact johnnyB and he will do better for you. His turbo kit for the 4G64 has dynod around 275WHP on a 4G64 with stock internals .... a stock 4G63 will dyno like 180ish and will cost you more to swappinto your car

Whats the difference between the 2g 4g64 that I have and the 3g 4g64? I want more power but I'm having a hell of a time trying to find what I need. I started by putting on a complete 2.5 inch exhaust, flowmaster muffler and a K&N air filter. I know it's not much but this engine has got me stumped. Where do I go next???

Im not sure if there is any differance maybe the way he motor faces in the engine bay? not sure if you go here there is some pics of my old car 4G64 it has one engine pic see if yours faces the same way if it does then its exactly the same. http://www.eclipseforum.com/forums/i...showtopic=6148

I still say cantact JohnnyB over there he can get your car moving and he has great products.. and if your from anywhere near FL there is also A.A.I. who makes very similar setups for the 4G64 however AAI has no website and AAI and FIAS have a bit of bad blood. Johhny is the way to go if you want power out of that motor. He has a 100% safe daily driveable turbo kit that also will give a ton of power I beleive that it would get a spyder into the 13s and a hard top even lower
