2nd generation ECLIPSE vs 3rd generation
Hi, I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I am looking around for a new car and mitsubishi eclipses look like just what I want. The problem is, I cannot decide if I should go for a 2nd gen or 3rd gen eclipse. Of course the 2nd gen will be cheaper, and prone to breaking down more often. But are there any "real" reasons why I should choose one over the other?
I was looking around craigslist and these looked intresting. What do you guys think?

2nd gen all the way. As far as I know all the eclipses have their fair share of problems, the less powerful models like the RS and GS are more reliable becuase they have less power and are built for econemy. If you are planning on somthing that you want to go realy fast get a GST or GSX (2nd gen) if you don't care then it really doesn't matter. Just FYI that guy on the red eclipse doesn't know what he is talking about. It says that it is an RS that comes with a 4g63 and that is very unlikley. Since someone would have to spend several thousand dollars to do that not to mention that you would beable to see an intercooler and stuff. But I would go with a 2nd gen becuase there are about a million parts available for them and they are realitivly cheap to make fast.

man, i was just gonna say that finally a dealership got it right and called an rs/gs agas saver, then they threw that in there. there is NO way that car has a turbo'd 4g63 motor in it... but anyway, 2g all the way. 1) They look one hell of a lot better than a 3g (no offense 3g guys), and 2) The GST/GSX models are sweet and you can make them remarkably fast
