I used to own a 2GNT (1998 RS) Eclipse and LOVED it. It was great and never had any problems.

I sold it (kicking myself!) and bought a 2003 350Z. I've had nothing but problems with it... suspension design flaws, gauges quit working, tranny problems, etc. etc. The problems I have with my 350Z are experienced by 99% of Z owners.

I'm now thinking about getting a 2005 Eclipse, which will be the same as the 2004 (The new bodystyle is slated for 2006). Any known habitual problems on the 3G Eclipses? Anything specific to the 4 cyl or 6 cyl engines? Thanks!

 

i've read alot of problems with the clutches on a manual and alot of bent rims off the 17" package. some people have complained about rust on sheet metal seams and problems with leaking/malfunctioning sunroofs.
