Default 3rd gear grinding

another dsm problem, lol. this time its with 3rd gear. it seems like anytime i am going around 60 mph and im either trying to upshift or downshift third gear will grind. sometimes its just a little bit and i can get it in gear and other times it will not let me put it into gear. but this only happens in 3rd. does anyone have any idea what is causing this.

It's your 3-4 synchro, lol, I have the same problem except I can shift into 3rd all the time. I can ease it into 3rd by pushing it into the first notch, and then rolling it the rest of the way into gear with the base of my palm and it won't grind, but if you go too fast and don't let it hit the first notch for a split sec, it'll grind on ya.

well that sucks. what would be better having it rebuilt or just buy a new tranny, or which is cheaper and will keep me out of trouble with the wife. lol
