The EVO motor is 180 degrees flipped. The cam and crank and everything is on the wrong side. It cant be done.

Its the same in the AMS evo.

i think we are a lil confused. i was talking about dropping an ams evo motor into a 2g eclipse gst or gsx since its the same engine. i was jsut thinking it would be cool as hell to drop a 1000+hp engine into an eclipse where nobody expects more than maximum of 500 or less.... that's all

Sorry to resurect a slightly old post. Saying that it can't be swapped is wrong. Saying that it would take a lot of money and fabrication skills is correct. It has been done before, don't think it's very practical myself but you can do it if you actually know what you're doing.

well the reason we usually say it cant be is cuz its easier than explaining about all the things you would need to do in order for the swap to take place

I want to see the car it was done on then.... I know the 2G motor has been done and it is very unrealistic in price to try and the EVO motor is far different then the eclipse versions.

Waiste of time waiste of money in the end you would be able to just buy and EVO and mod it for the cash plus still have a car with high re sale value.... rather than dumping it into an eclipse and still only having it be worth like $7k if that.
