420a Harmonic Balancer Concern
Hi All
Did a timing belt change on my 420a. Had to replace the harmonic balancer. Bought one made in China (most of the aftermarket ones appear to be) and car started tearing up drive belts for the AC and power steering. Really frustrating trying to figure out what was wrong.
Purchased a used balancer to see if that was the problem and found that the Chinese unitwas not be pressed together enough. The belt area was definitely farther out than the original.
Can't say all are like this, but it is something to be aware of.

damn thats odd, you would think coming from china it would be good.. atleast it was a simple fix
