My friend told me on his sisters gsx, she had a 500 watt sub wired into the stock amp. Is that possible or is he full of it? I have a 500w in a box laying around somewhere.

 

he can have it hooked up but it is only getting about 25watts or so

 

even if he put in a 1000watt sub with a 1000watt amp he isnt getting 1000watts. The stock alternator is too small. I have a 12" type R and i had to up my alternator to 130amps. stock alt is about 75amps and 12volts so watts=amps X volts, 75 X 12=900 watts of electricity for the whole car. My 130amp alt makes 130 X 12=1560watts for the whole car
