its all on maintenance. They all are prone but dont let it turn you away from them. They are still very reliable and can handle pretty good power. just take some precautionary measures like disengaging the clutch start switch.

Ok first off the oil sqirter as you call it also know as a oil jet is totally different from oil journals in the crank every motor has them. I totally agree on this as far as 6bolt swap you do have to re-wire all sensors on the bottom end to the harness for a 7bolt everyone I know that has done this swap had to do it and wire length matters in this field or ecm may read false signals because of wire length.

just wanted to clarify what was ment.

Edit: please correct me if i have this wrong but of the few motors i have built this is what i have known them as 7 bolt dose not have oil juets from what i have seen.

yup...
me!!!
its so bad that i go from the clutch being perfectly adjusted to completely disengaged !
it just sucks cuz i have to crawl under the dash and re-adjust the rod to the master :@

ohh welll..
the more reason to do a 6 bolt swap w/ megasquirt and along with some other stuff

we were actually just discussing this in the other thread, yes the 7 bolts have the oil squirters. They are just in a different location and type than that of the 6 bolt

Ok the question i have is Are they called oil squirter's? the reason i asked is i was confusing this with oil jets which the 7bolt as far as i know dose not have but a 6 bolt dose i have alwase known the item you are talking about is oil journals this is the oiler for the crank in that flows in and around the bearings for the crank.
