RE: 6 bolt and 7 bolt
well depending on year of the car. but if not sure you ar going to have to take a look on how many bolts there are on the flywheel and that will tell you what kind you have. if you have a 93 like you name says. then you have a 1g 7-bolt.

Crankwalk for one. If you are using a non turbo engine then thats a dissadvantage in itself. You would only be able to run low boost. Unless you wanted to rebuild the engine with big rods and low comp pistons.

RE: 6 bolt and 7 bolt
Probably not. If you're rebuilding it crankwalk was a problem with the thrust bearing and you SHOULD be replacing that in the process. (Was it the thrust bearing or the seating surface I can't remember). Either way you SHOULD be taking care of that on the rebuild so you should have nothing to worry about in that area.

RE: 6 bolt and 7 bolt
well part of it was the thrust bearings but it also had to do with the journals and the oil squirters that cuased the problem. Then those lead to thrust bearing failure. So you will still have the problem. putting on stronger bearings will just make it take longer. And granted also that it doesnt happen to all of them. So dont think that it is automatically gonna happen. Some things that contribute to it is a stiff clutch, and having the clutch depressed at idle. Now the car being a 93 i can pretty much guaretee you its a 7-bolt unless someone did the swap. And the only way i know of to tell is the flywheel.
