But if he's doing a full rebuild should that take care of the faulty squirters? I mean since he'll be in there anyways why not right?

 

Not exactly. The only way 2 help the oil squirter situation would be 2 machine the block for the oil squirters out of a 6-bolt to fit. Which is what me and my buddy is in the process of doing 2 his car.

yeah or buy a 6-bolt and not run into the problem like im doing.

 

Why not just get a turbo motor like 93E stated? That's a lot of extra work that, IMO, doesn't need to be done since it's already on the other motor. Besides that, there's more or should I say less in a 1.8L N/T motor than there is in the 2.0L turbo motor and the oil squirters are just one thing.

well i was starting to lean to a buying a 6 bolt motor brand new off slowboyracing if i can come up with the money then i changed my mind and i was jus gonna go junkyard shopin since i am that cheap and just gonna get it runnin for now when winter really hits then that when the fun happenes

 

i bought an engine out of a 91 plymouth lazer turbo AWD to put in my 93 Tsi, bolts right up, there was a page about the shape of the oil pan on how to tell between 6 or 7 bolt,i lost it.... but like they said a 93 should be a 7 bolt, mine should have been but was swapped to a 6 bolt 1.8L then the turbo head from a 2.0 put on it and it had the major meltdown from high crompression + boost
