Default 6 Bolt Blocks

Now this may be a stupid question but are there two different 6 bolt blocks because I've seen references to a long block and a short block. If there are then what are the differences between the two and which would be the better choice when starting a build. I eventually want around 425 to the wheels in the new 1995 Talon TSI awd I just bought. Thanks

Shortblock and longblock are referring 2 all the componets that come with the block itself. 6 bolt block is a 6 bolt block.

A short block is just the block itself.
A long block refers to block, head, manifolds, and more. A complete engine assembly.
