Check for spark, and also check the timing belt and make sure that it is timed correctly

ea man check the little things first before you jump into a big project... it could be plugs, wires, starter, ect... check it all out first

well, if it tells you it is the crank sensor. i would assume it may be that. that could cause it not to start... if i were you i would check the wiring before and after the sensor to see if it is bad before the sensor or if the sensor itself is bad. if it is bad... replace it... pretty simple solution if it is bad before the sensor... sart tracing the wires to the culprit.. and it is not worth it to give up on a project because of something like that... maybe if you found out the internals were mush.... but even then it would only give me the drive to build a monster. good luck with the car man. btw i would use an ohm/volt meter to check the electrical. it is a very simple and easy process.

Are you sure it's the crank sensor? That sensor is covered by the lower T-belt cover and behind the crank gear. Now the cam sensor is the one on the intake cam shaft/gear (closest to the intake). Is that the one that you're referring to?
