ok im new to the DSM scene,and im going to be buying a 95 eclipse rs..now im not sure which motor is in it..i was told either 4g63 or 420a..also the guy im buying it from says the car will need to be towed because its not running due to a map sensor..now i was also told by another person these cars dont have map sensors instead they have MAF sensors....

so i just wanted to clear this whole thing up..
what motor is in the car?
does it have a map sensor or a maf sensor?
will it run without a map/maf sensor?

 

Motor is 420a in RS & GS models
4g63 is GS-T & GS-X models
2.4 liter in Spyders
If the MAF is bad, the car will run like ****, probably chug but I never had one go bad on me so we others' opinions as well.

 

it runs on a map sensor not a maf sensor. Only the 4g63 runs on the MAF. But i wouldnt trust this car one bit. Because you can unplug a map sensor and it will still run. Not that well, it might try and stall alot but it should still run. Sounds fishy to me

 

awesome thanks for the info...soo i will try to get ahold of the guy to see what the deal is,,all he said is that it would need to be towed,soo maybe it is just the map sensor

 

Stop Now and Just buy a gsx . I bought a rs and now all I think about is gsx. Even tho My car looks great It will never be fast. Kinda like a hot girl that dosent give it up
