you dont need to worry about low milage. I mean under 100k miles for that price is possible. and the Evos have yet to see the mileage that they get unreliable at. I mean when I owned mine there were people well over 100k still putting around with 300-400WHP and not issues other than maintanence

It might not matter to you, but beings this guy mentioned that as a specific requirement, I am guessing it matters to him.

yea cause wrx and DSMs with high miles are known to be POS's that cant stay running without something breaking once a week. I mean look at woody. His DSM spins a bearing so he buys a wrx and a month later he spins a bearing in that. Do you think either of his cars were anwhere close to 400HP. They porb were not even 300HP

So lets say I do decide that I want that evo, Can I get a 2006 for 13-16k that is half-way decent and not a POS thats been run into the ground. I've also heard that the lancer evo is one of the priciest cars for insurance. So to say I do pay the car in cash which I plan to do, will I be getting screwed by my isurance bills

it all depends on your record... i know mike had an evo and his insurance was pretty cheap... it was actually much cheaper than my rs was... if you're older and you have a clean record you shouldnt have any problems

Im only 19, I want a reliable car thats relitively fast. But, I know that because of my age im going to be paying alot, even with a perfect driving record. Im trying to decide on which car would be best for me. I live in illinois and will be attending school in wisconsin so I want something that will be good for those long hauls but still relatively fast. Ill probably put a few mods on it but im not look to straight up ricer my car. I have an 85 camaro with only 85k on it that I baby and I dont want to be driving it those kinds of distances. So im looking at what my better options would be, I like the gsx and wrx because their awd and after driving a car with rwd I want something more stable for snow and rain.

in Ma I was 21 and paying $1400 a year for the Evo. at 22 I was paying $909 a year. You dont need an IX to have a nice Evo. Most people want the IX and to be honest other than a few differences in looks the VIII is better for building a fast car. MIVEC becomse usless at high HP. Personally I had an 03 that I built up. The car is making 470HP with the new owner now and still running strong and pulling 11.5 at 125MPH in the 1/4.I say look into a 03 with like 60k miles and youll have a really nice car for the price. and they would be pretty close to your price range.

Oh and obviously never pay asking price for a car.
