Default 98 gs-t turbo upgrade

This year I bought a 98 gs-t with 92,000 miles on it. I'm told that at around 100,000 miles I might need to replace the turbo, so what all will I need to do to the engine, etc. in order to add on a non-stock turbo?

when you upgrade the turbo, you should also upgrade the fuel system, intake, and exhaust. and i would go with a maf translator they are worth the money, but how long the turbo will last depends on how you drive your car. 90,000 miles i would check to make sure a timing belt has been done on it. if not there is your first mod [sm=lol.gif]

There's no specific mile range where you need to replace a turbo, if you treat it like junk you can loose it quick, if you take care of it there's no reason you should have to replace it unless you want to upgrade.

Depends on what type of power you want to make. Also depends on what turbo you are looking at getting.

As said above..These cars are not equiped with the KO3's or anything like that. If it was then I would suggest a replacement at 100k. These turbos are fine as long as you treat them right. Check it for leaks and shaftplay. Is it blowing smoke out of the rear?
