98 Spyder 2.4 GS Tranny Question

I have a 98 Spyder that has a blown Tranny, basically I have no reverse or gear above 1st. If I am going to have to get a new Tranny anyway, has anyone swapped an Auto for a Manual? I know there are pedal\clutch issues as well as shifter issues, but what about the TCM and all the computer stuff? I really like the Spyder, but I think I would like it more if it was a manual. I figure I can probably get all I need from a junk yard, just not sure what I need besides the obvious.

It's definately more difficult as you'll be cutting the firewall and adding brackets cables and mounts. I don;t know what it'll be like going from auto to manual on the '98 but I'd recommend while at the junkyard pulling parts for the conversion take a camera and get pictures of what the different things look like and how they go together, as well as where holes are cut to help you match everything up when you finaly go to do the conversion. I myself have a 1G that was converted to auto and am looking into doing the same thing (SOOOO much more control with a 5 speed
). I'll be looking into it myself and the process should be similar with the excepttion that all my holes are already in place for pedals and wiring and whatnot. As for the TCM you will need a new one. Ask around and if the '92 5 speed TCM will work I have one here that worked when it was pulled.
