Question 99 eclipse engine swap

I have just purchased a 99 eclipse 2.0l non turbo 5 speed. has a tap in the engine, i found a 97 eclipse spyder with a 2.4l 5 speed non turbo. will this engine be a direct swap? or how much work will it require? would it be worth it?

it was a statement. Not a question.
If you take 30 seconds out of your busy schedule, to search, you will find the answer is "anything will fit in anything" but "depends how much money or skillz you haz" bro.

this is why i stay with my ford family, ask a question u get an answer not people telling you something u already know an being an *** about it. i know anything will fit and i have the skills to do it just not the time hence i asked on here which u would think would have people which have done this and would be able to give a straight forward honest answer to how much work and would it be with it

Looks like it would indeed be a direct swap. As to the question of "how much work", I have not a clue, never done one. To me it would be a ton of work, if you've done an engine swap before, it may not be a lot of work.

"Would it be worth it"? I also have not a clue about this. It is your car, your time and your money. Only you can decide if it is worth it.

ty, the different engines i knew, wasn't sure if the transmission would be the same. i know ecm would have to be changed, i didn't know the hp ratings. so seems actually best to do is rebuild the 2.0 thats in it
