Default 99 Eclipse GST 2.0 Valve Cover Gasket Replacment

What is the best approach to separating the valve cover from the head on a GST 2.0 so that I don't damage or fracture the aluminum surface on the head or the cover? I have all visual valve cover bolts and the spark plugs removed. I hear the cover loosening at the front, but sense that the gasket is sealed pretty well at both ends and at the back. Where would be my best leverage point? Thanks for your input.

you should be able to just take a flat head screw driver and pry up on a couple spots. The whole thing is pretty solid so just do it slowely little by little.
