That's normal. I reset my ecu yesterday and the first time I press my clutch in, she died. The second time the RPMs dropped really low, but went back up to norms. After that, she idles and drives like a champ.
I do recommend letting the ECU see a lot of airflow before your car will idle and run normal again though. Some cars, it will get to the point like your car is just a POS, then a day or two of driving and she'll be all better again. You still have to clean out the throttle body too.

How about around the throttle position sensor? That's usually found on the opposite side of the throttle pulley (the cable is connected to that). Regardless, it never hurts to clean it out.

A little note, when using any cleaner....with the car running, don't spray large bursts, just small ones because it will cause the motor to die out. So, little spurts will drop the RPMs, it will rise again, you will spray, and repeat....

i know its not the same car or anything like it but on my old ford focus i had that same problem it turned out to be the i.a.c. valve(not sure if eclipse's have those or not) and t.p.s. went bad at the same time.

okay well i couldn't get the tps unsnapped to look at it and it was still reving to 4grand so i unplugged a sensor and started it up it ran like crap but it was a low idle until it died then gave me a code to read p0108 ( i did plug it back in after it died) in doing this it made my car quit reving so high i was acctualy able to drive it and not just steer it. anyone have any clues?
