air intake wistle. please help

Default air intake wistle. please help

what does it mean when my aftermarket air intake is making a wistling/ sucking sound?

some do this because instead of being made with plastic (like your factory intake) they are made with steel or aluminum which causes the sounds to be louder. However, I would definitely recommend making sure your MAF is not on backwards. When I installed my first ever CAI on a car, I had mistakenly done this. I thought it sounded cool but didn't realize anything was wrong and ended up burning up my MAF and having to spend $400+ to replace it a couple days later. This was especially a pain since I was in the middle of downtown Dallas when it decided to stop completely and I was stuck with no way to move sitting in the middle of the street! Be sure to check it out ASAP, most have an arrow on it somewhere.

MAF = Mass Air Flow sensor. this sensor is the box that is just after the airbox or air filter on your car. It is smaller and has a plug in the side of it. You generally connect your MAF to the filter on one side and the intake pipe on the other. If you did not put this back on, you will have significantly less power, if your car moves at all
