It's a good idea to always check the gap, it only takes a second and can save MAJOR headache. I'm probably paranoid, but double checking never hurts anything.

yeah, like when i put my valve cover gasket on.... good job not sealing it jon-eric, now i'm spraying oil all over the engine bay.
