Does anyone know what anti freeze color comes with a 99 Eclipse GS from factory

 

should be green but make sure that it is the kind that is ok for aluminum.

 

oh so its aluminum? and what if i put the red one? cause i just bougth a PRESTONE antifreeze

 

well the radiator and head are aluminum so you need a antifreeze that is ok for it or you will get corousion in the water from the aluminum. open the cap is it green did you drain it? If you have green fluid than use a green antifreeze qualified for aluminum.

 

Make sure you didn't swap regular green antifreeze with Dexcool. Supposedly they fixed the problem with Dexcool but it used to be that if you mixed Decool with the regular green antifreeze it would, after a period of time, turn into a goo that did nothing but clog the entire cooling system. Like I said though supposedly fixed that problem.
