Why would you want to put a bodykit on your car?

I notice you are looking for a cheaper one, that tells me that money isn't in surplus.

This is a bad thing because $300 is the LEAST of the expenses you will incur. First expense will be the kit itself, then will be someone to mount it potentially costing $300 in itself. Don't kid yourself into thinking that you can mount it yourself, because it will look like ****. Then after that you have to prep and paint it, this will probably be AT LEAST $5-600.

Now, don't think the money stops there. Take a look around at all the local ricers and their bodykits, NONE of them are perfect. You get a road chip or you graze that speed bump a little too hard and BAM it cracks. So then you have to pay for someone to redo the fiberglass in that area, and then you have to repaint it. You should also know that fiberglass repairs are never perfect, and eventually it will get moisture under it and crack and peel once more, so when you think about it the cost of owning the kit never stops.

As well as financially stupid, it looks like **** too. You won't get respect in the car community because ever since F&F anything with a bodykit is a joke. Unless you own race companies Veilside or Nismo and you are using it on your demo cars.

Bottom line, STAY THE F*** AWAY FROM THEM.

ok so let me respond to that reply

1. money is never in surplus so why pay 1000.00 for something u can get for 500.00

2. i liked the kit on my first eclipse cause it wasnt like the rest of those stupid looking ricers out there with 20 scoops and shopping cart sized spoilers etc. my bumpers are screwed on my new eclipse anyway so i figured id get the ones i liked on my first car.

3. mounting and painting is ABSOLUTLEY not a problem. my eclipse is basically a beater car so i fiqure i spend a couple bucks on it to make it in my eyes better looking for now. I dont give 2 ***** what the ricer jap community thinks about the car. I have a fully restored 79 trans am that i restored MYSELF i think i can handle mounting some stupid bumpers and painting them and if they crack u cares since they are only 300 dollars anway.

nobody takes offense, its just not our taste and everyone has their own. Thats probably not one of the worse body kits ive seen for a 2g, but IMO id rather have a nice stock97-99 eclipse front.

i agree w/ sebba I've owned a kit and while it looks nice you always have to worry about curbs pot holes and everything thats just sitting on the road and if you bump it to hard you got side skirts and a bumper unless its show i don't think a kit is worth it
