Default awd conversion

Ok, first off, I swear I did a search. Everything I searched under gave me no results.

I am looking for a shell and someone mentioned they may have an AWD shell available. I have a 95 gst FWD vehicle. Can I swap out my motor and tranny easily? or does it require some modification?

Any help or links to past write ups would be great.

Thx

yea you can swap the engine over but you'll need a GSX drivetrain.

Yea, atown, you might be right. But I am just looking into thiings to see what my options are. I haven't excluded parting out my current car and buying a new one.

Hy TJ, can you be a little more specific? I mean the whole drive train?

Thx

You don't need to swap out the motor to do an AWD swap, just the tranny. You will then ADD the AWD parts and remove the old gas tank and replace it with the AWD gas tank. That was the gist of it, here's the entire process.... http://www.automotivearticles.com/AWD_Conversion.shtml

Having the shell will be helpful.

actually i heard its easier because the frame is stiffer than the gst. alot of spyders gst's have done it.
