My spyder hasa ram-air, and i think it's the best. Intake temps dropped dramatically(i had it posted somewhere, i used a pocketlogger to do a before and after). You can really feel the air just being sucked in through the left hole in the front bumper. Also, the engine has a deeper sounding growl to it. All i did was hack the box and use a K&N stock type filter and led a piece of tubing about 3.5" from the left bumper whole to the bottom of the box. I had a blogon some site....i forget where it was. However, expect to clean the filter a bit more now. A LOT of dirt just goes up the pipe and gets stuck in the filter. Highway pick-up is much improved now, and throttle response is great.

P.S.>Anyone can email me and i'll try and find the pics and do a little write up on it.

did you have to cun a hole out? im confused as to how you did this. I was always thinkin about making a custom ram air intake, for the fact that the CIA and filter are in the engine compartment, only sucking in warm air... almost hurting more than helping.. hit me with some pics of this!

jokerswild01@aol.com Thanks brah

Yeah, by "hack" i mean "cut". I just cuta circular hole in thebottom of the outer part of the box. The part of the box with the clips on it, not the part that attaches to the mas. I didn't cut the whole thing up because at high speeds, in the very back of my head i'm thinking there's like 0.0002psi of pressure building upin the box. And any little bit helps...

Anyways, when i first did it i used some flexibleheating duct type tubing that you would use on a dryer. It was all good until i realized that when i go over 20mph the ducting would flex and bend back. So i got some solid pieces of venting type material and finally got a good piece of 3.5" ss tubing and bent it to fit. It works absolutely great, the whole intake pipe all the way to intake manifold is always VERY cold(outside temperature cold). I've got a spyder gs with the 4g64 engine so almost everything in my engine bay would be identical to yours, except for the whole turbo thing. So if it fits on my car, then it would fit on yours too. The only for-see-able problem is that it would block your factory side mount ic. Soooo...get an fmic to solve that problem. I've been looking for pics, but since it put it up on the internet i think i may have deleted from my hard drive. I'll try and take somepics of my current setup but my camera-phone is being stupid.
