Default The best oil

I have a 1996 Eclipse GST with a 6-Bolt being put in tomorrow.

I want to put the BEST oil i can in to keep its running well.
i have heard Royal Purple is good for turbocharged cars and was thinking about it.
What do you guys think?

Is the 6-bolt new?....if your going to be "breaking" the engine in then if I read correctly, your not suppose to start with synthetic.

If that engines already been ran, Use mobil 1, thats all i run in my race cars and my engines seem to outlast the others by a long shot. Like he said if its a new engine that needs broke in run some el cheapo stuff untill you get the rings seated in or they will never seat if synthetic is used.

Also check out the DIY section if its a new engine. There is a write-up in there for a way to break in a motor. However ive never tried it nor knew someone that tried the "ride it hard for the first 20 miles" method.

But i agree with racer on the mobil 1

I've never used synthetic, don't really car to spend $60 to change my oil.
I use Castrol GTX 5w-30 and have never had any problems engine related in ANY of my cars... ever.

and how long have you have your car. Using synthetic is more for longevity. I guess as long as you keep up on the changes before your 3k then its fine. But id always like to be more precuationary and with any turbo car im always gonna use sythetic

And i'm aware of the lie span of synthetic.
Does'nt brak down as quickly as other oils.
I don't think its bad stuff, ****... if its all a Corvette, Porshce, Viper, and other sports cars can have than it must be good stuff.

Speaking of oil, I have to go this diesel class for For on the new 6.4ltr diesel.
That sucker can only have Motorcraft CJ-4 Diesel oil, and ULSD (ultra low sulfur diesel).
They (Ford) have engineered one hell of a truck with the 2008 Super Duty.
And I have to learn alllll about it... damn.
