Like i said we use it in RACE engines and they outlast the engines with plain oil. Theres a reason your not supposed to use it on a new engine is because it makes so little friction that it wont even break in & it'll smoke forever. If you have a heavy foot like me use synthetic. if you drive around like any normal old person stick to the cheap ****. Royal Purple motor oil is **** IMO. mobile 1 is true synthetic. Castrol gtx is camel **** water crap. Every time i put that **** in an engine it has half the oil pressure, lifters tap and i end up changing it back to something else.

And josh im telling you, your better off putting synthetic in you 2g because it being a 2g you have even more problems with crankwalk which is first initiated by the oil passages. So putting ****ty oil in it is not the way to go about taking care of the car.

I probally will switch to Mobil 1 in my Eclipse.
Cars only got 48k and has drank mineral oil its whole life, so its not too late toswitch it I think.

Any special way for switchin from mineral to synth.?
Never done it, know nothing about it.
Just drain all the oil, and I mean all, changefilter and pour in synth.?

you can switch anytime. Actually the first time it usually is recommended to use a 50/50 mix but ive never really heard of problems just going straight to synthetic

i use napa synthetic 10w-30. Works pretty good. sometimes manages to get past the rings when being run really hard, even though the rings are in perfect condition. Thats a small disadvantage of synthetic. I really have no opinion between synthetic or regular. I would just say go with what everyone is saying with the purple.
