GST by far. It doesnt matter what year. I believe the gst is already faster than the civic from stock and it has alot more potential then the civic

stock civic = like 130hp/90ft-lbs of torque
gst = 210hp/200ft-lbs(i think).

and you are comparing a non-turboed car against a turboed car.

ya stock/stock the civic runs a 16 or 17 something and the eclipse runs a low 15. even if the motors are the same its a "camed" 2.0 liter honda vs a turbo charged 2.0 mitsu... I dont think a camed import motor will ever make more hp then a motor with the same displacment turbocharged.

GST hands down. The eclipse Gst 95-99 5 speed had 210hp/214lbs. TQ, 1/4 mile in 15.1 The fastest civic yet to come out is the 2006 si which has 197hp/137lbs TQ, 1/4 mile in 15.1.

Now with that being said you can see the civic still runs a 15.1 just like the eclipse did, but thats because it has a limited slip differential. Everyone knows that a turbo engine gains much more benifit from mods than a NA engine. For example, take an intake and put it on a new civic. Youll probably gain about 4-5 hp now stick it on the gst eclipse and your lookin at 10-12 hp from the same mod. This shouldnt even be a question of which is better!

well we kinda figured you were talking about performance in which case there is no comparison as everyone has said. But as far as which will last longer. I dont think you can ever compare that with any car because it all has the do with the owner. Any car can last long when well maintained. Obviously the honda will get better gas mileage and you wont need to put in the premium gas. However if you are looking at used vehicles the honda is most likely going to last longer. And i stress most likely. But once again it depends on the previous owner. Many eclipses have gone over 200,000 on the stock engine.
