Well the only thing is if you plan on upgrading a turbo, then there is other stuff that will need to upgrade as well. So unless you plan on spending over 1k then i wouldnt suggest an upgrade. You can easily find a good replacement for the t25 online or even ebay. I guess you could buy something like a 16g turbo but then with all stock stuff youd only be able to run around 10-12psi max.

agreed, if you go any bigger than stock you will end up having to buy a few suporting mods probably coming out to close to 1k depending on the quality material you get.

well basicly i have wanted this car all my life and i been wanting to do some up grades. you guys think a whole new turbo kit would do. i now there well over 1k but am willing to spend it. i just dont know if da engine will take a up grade whit 137k on it.

Dont get carried away with upgrades and it should handle a little. Keep the boost at a sensable level and dont beat the **** out of it. My old 150,000 mile GSX is hangin in there as bad as i abuse it.

a friend of mine has over 180,000 on his 97 GSX. It smokes a little but the motor still has life to it.. Hes rebuilding it this winter but by no means would he HAVE to.. Just keep the boost under 15lbs and you should be fine fora while..

Might be the head gasket. Did you ever hear a POP and then the white smoke come after it?

How does the car sound when you are getting on it? Does it "whine" or make a high pitched screech?

the smoke comes out whenever i accelerate and i didnt here any pop when it first started smokeing.
when i open the hood and rev. it lot of smoke comes out from the turbo and i could here like a rattling/whining noise coming form it. i hear it the most when it turns off. after the engine is off i hear it more louder.
