Default Boost leak

this is driving me crazy guys,,,

95 gsx

basically the turbo blew so it spooled all kinds of crap into the IC so i installed the new turbo, everything worked great,, a friend told me to clean out the IC before i blow more crap into my motor ( which i was stupid not to think of)

and ever since i have a boost leak

so the lower IC pipe and the upperIC pipe is the only things i can think of,,, possiblity of a pin hole leak in the IC now

idk... any tests i can run???

any ideas guys??? all stock piping and turbo btw

thanks

ya, you can run a boost leak check.... lol k here we go

http://www.gohighperformance.com/ima...t/dscf0001.jpg
that is a picture of the components to a boost leak checker, you need the rubber coupler to couple the pvc bushing to your turbo inlet, then on the threaded section of the bushing you need to find a way of putting an air tank nipple on it so you can hook up an air tank to it.

it will look somethin like this when it is finished
http://img213.imageshack.us/i/boosti...leak%20checker

k so now that you have your checker, you need to get a squirt bottle with some really soapy water in it.

k so hook up your air tank to the boost leak checker and put the checker on your turbo inlet, turn on the compressor and set the psi to about 20 or something like that.

Spray the soapy water everywhere that is between your intake manifold and your intake filter, all couplings and hoses. if you see bubbles then there is your boost leak

have fun

My guess would be the IC piping. One of the couplings are probable loose or blown off. Or have a tear.

is it where my injen intake clamps on to the turbo housing?
thanks for the help

oh and all the couplers and hook ups look fine,, double/triple checked all my hook ups,, thinking its one of the IC pipes themselves,, 15 years old and a lot of heating up and cooling down probably would result in my problem im guessing, and me moving them out of the place they ve been in for all that time didnt help anything but hey stuff gets old and breaks what can you do

yes the turbo inlet is where the intake connects. Another thing to check is the gasket on the BOV, if you removed that for any reason.

Have you done anything else with the intake/fuel system? The fuel injector o-rings are a common place for boost leaks, as is the BISS screw and throttle body seals. How old are your vacuum lines? If they are old, I would recommend replacing them with silicone hoses. The FIAV could be another source of a leak. When they get old and worn out, they allow more air to bypass the throttle plate. Let us know if you need anything else and good luck!
