So I bought a 97 gsx last week. The car did not come with an engine (which i have) or a transmission. I have been looking for a gsx trans for quite some time now and they seem to be few and far between. My question is, is a 1g gsx trans the same as a 2g gsx trans? I am looking to get a manual trans by the way.

 

the problem you will have is with the transfer case. If you get a 1g trans you have to make sure you get the correct transfer case to go with it since there are 3 different type splines.
