I Havea 96 mitsubishi eclipse RS, I was wondering is there a conversion kit to switch my drum brakes on the rear wheels over to disc brakes? im not sure if disc is better than drum but i belive disc brakes have a much cleaner look behind the rims. But is there a conversion kit to make this possible? where could i buy one and for how much could i expect to pay?

Default RE: Brakes

What you need is the hub, backing plate, caliper, rotor, and brake lines. Call any junk yard, and buy the hub with the mounting bolts, backing plate, and calipers. Get new rotors (about $29) new brake lines (about $12), and new pads. The only problem is the parking brake cable. It's a pain in the butt to get it locked in the backing plate, but just keep playing with it. You should have less than $200 in to it by the time you are done
