I am looking to buy a 98-99 Eclipse. So far I've found a 98 Spyder GS-T but the dealership has replaced the clutch, they dont know how to get the roof to go down, the stereo doesnt turn on, its been painted a totally knew color, and the carfax says there was a recall for a lower arm ball joint(whatever that is) The other is a 99 Eclipse GS-T in good condition both are around the same price but is the Spyder worth getting and fixing up or should I just go with the 99?? Also to get off the topic of that friends are telling me to go with an Acura GSR b/c thats all they drive (Hondas&Acuras) and they say the V-Tec is better than the turbo,mechanical problemsor some sh*t like that. I wanted to get Eclipse owners point of view b/c they are all just stuck on the Tegs. If anyone wants to put there view points about any of this feel free to anytime thanx!!!

 

ok first of all, the gsr is not all wheel drive. the eclipse GSX is all wheel drive. To my knowlegde there is no honda with that feature. V-tec is cool but in no way is it better, both is cool as hell but hands down turbo is the best way to go. If your going to buy either of those cars get the 99, you dont want those other problems on your hands, when you first purchase the vehicle. But thats all the advice I can give you. But honestly which ever of your boys told you that nonsense about hondas, DO NOT ask him for any car advice because he is obviously confused. Peep you lata.

 

Sup dude well the way i see it as a GSR integra owner at 1 time and as a current eclipse owner the eclipse is so much of a better car gsr is a 1.8L V-TEC around 150 to 160hp while the eclipse is a 2.0L turbo around 180 to 200hp and eclipse's can run just as long as honda.

 

Before you get a DSM make sure you know how to work on cars and have a lot of extra money. Reliability isnt their strong points.
