I have manuel book how to installed timing belt and line up all the mark. I took everything outi discover there no balance shaft belt behind the timing belt. I don't know ifthe soch 2.4l have balance shaft belt can anyone tell me. I installed both belt together and line up all the point together. Iput everything back together start the car. The car won't start andthere no choke sound. when the car start-up very slow and dead there no power at all.
I replace spark plug, spark plug wire and ingition coil, still the same result and i return the ingition coil back. next day battery is dead and i do jump start won't start. I use my scion xb battery same result. I took out alternator to the autozone for testing but they say the alternator still good.
Anyone have suggest help me out.

My brother told me the engine was rebuilt about 6-8 months ago.

I have question here if installed the timing belt or balance shaft belt and I forgot to line up the mark. do you think the car will start up or not?

First of all if the timing belt was broken and the car was running when this happened you have bent valves this is a interference motor the valves stop moving and the piston comes up and smacks them. I would do a compression test just to make sure it is holding compression.

I agree, do a compression test in all 4 cylinders. I'm sure you have some bent valves (hopefully you didn't crack any of your pistons). However, on the bright side, since you're going to have to remove your head, you'll might want to think about doing a 2G Turbo head swap and wake up that 2.4L motor.

If there is no compression then hope it didn't do a lot of damage you will have to pull the head and have the valves that are bent replace and if needed head resurfaced. also if this is the case you need to look at the pistons to make sure there is not a lot of damage to them as well if there is a lot of damage they may need replace but i have never seen that with a snapped timing belt.

youll have to bring the head to a machine shop. Most of them will charge about $500 to rebuild it and replace any valves that need to be replaced.
