MY car, a 98RSjust stopped starting about 3 months ago. I pulled into a gas station to get a drink and when I cane out it won't start. The will start if a jump the silonoid, but the other than that it won't start with the key. I just replaced the starter and everything is connected right, but it still refuses to start. All I hear when I go to start is a slight buzzing and sound and everything turns off. When the key goes back to On postion everything works fine. Oh, it is a manual, not auto.

 

Do you have a remote starter hooked up??

 

i'd check the battery and alternator just to make sure they're good, and how would it matter if it has a remote starter? i'm just curious as to y, cuz i don't see y it would affect it. and is the slight buzzing the fuel pump?

 

actually no the slight buzzing sounds more like the starter not gettin' enough juice to crank over

 

Thank you all for your replies, but I found the problem. Not sure what it is called but it is a circuit card that controls the Ignition input to the starter. The wire that controls the Input from the Ignition had come off the card and I'm going to have to resoder it on.
