Code 12 ---?

Code 12 ---?
Hi all,</P>
I own a '95 GS. From time to time she will quit and fire right back up, briefly flashing the check engine light. When I check the code the only one I get is 12, battery input to PCM disconnected within last 50 cycles.</P>
Initially I thought it must be a wiring disconnect problem, but the thing is it is consistant in one thing... it always fires right back up. For instance, cruising at 65 mph, engine shuts off, light flashes on then off, engine fires up all within 1/5th a second. Its barely noticeable but it can't be good. The radio stays set so the battery isn't getting disconnected. And if it were a harness or something I'd expect it to only happen when I hit a bump, or at the very least itwould not always restart as I'd expect the wiring to get disconnected then stay disconnected. This also happens when I'm just idling (except since its not moving it doesn't restart itself).</P>
I'm -so- baffled and am terrified of bringing it to the technicians like this. I can't imagine it will be cheap for them to tell me that the code 12 means its losing power <IMG src=smileys/smiley3.gif border="0"></P>
I'm going to go clean up electrical connections now, none-the-less. If anyone has any thoughts or further questions for me, any help is so much appreciated.</P>

Code 12 ---?
Update: Cleaned the terminal connections on the battery and reconnected. It was corroded but nothing that I would expect to hurt anything. Started car and about 30 seconds afterwards she shut down, Code 12.</P>

RE: Code 12 ---?
Howdy, I own a 96 RS and having a similar problem. I went on vacation for a few weeks and came back to find the car would crank, but not fire. I have tested the Cam position sensor and it works fine. I think the PCM is bad, but I can't tell. I get 8 volts on the supply side of the cps and 4 volts on the output side of the connector with it disconnected. I pulled the trouble light codes and it had a code 12 and 55. At this point I'm stumped.

RE: Code 12 ---?
yall need to look more deeply into old tech q's. code 12 is an air flow sensor fault. look into the maf check make sure everything looks kosher. check the maf connections. and follow the wiring to make sure it isnt rubbing or grounding anywhere.
