Coil Overs

RE: Coil Overs
I had Goldline Springs, with Koni Adjustable Struts, with 205/40/16 Nitto NeoGen Tires... And the car handled Great... Tires went bald and I got a Strut bar recently with some all season tires... and I can tell such a huge difference with tires... Make sure you have tires whos walls won't give in when you are making sharp turns. You can have an expensive suspension but without good tires, it don't mean crap.

RE: Coil Overs
Oh it rides fine, but the tires I have now are like 400Treadwear 205/55/16 All seasons.. and the Nittos were 280treadwear 205/40/16... You can feel the tirewall give in on the all seasons when you make sharp turns... they def werent made for performance... Don't get me wrong it handles better then it would stock, but just not as good with really good tires on it.

RE: Coil Overs
Well you have to think. The sport tires are meant to be just that and are supposed to take a beating. Not to mention most are low pro tires and don't HAVE the sidewall to roll under. Regular tires are meant for regular driving.

Shocks/Struts: KYB AGX
These are approximately $300 off of ebay
Springs: Eibach pro kit
These are approximatly $200 off of ebay
So you are getting a very stiff high quality suspension for only $500 rather than spending the money for a coilover kit, if you dont really want to be lowering the car over 2". If it was me then this is what i would do.

RE: Coil Overs
So I'm thinking of going with the KYB and the Eibach springs but I can't seem to find an application for my model - Eclipse 98 Spyder GST. Does anyone know if Eibach makes springs for my car? Or can I just buy the springs for the GS Spyder? I know they have different engines and therefore will prob have different weights. And finally if they don't make an application, what other options would you'll recommend? Thanks again...

RE: Coil Overs
I bought my setup for a gsx,it is heavier than a gst and that is supposed to accomodate the extra weight that a spyder has.I believe that you can get any model 95-99 eclipse/talon to bolt up to the spyder but it will not be the best suited for your car that is why there is different suspension for different models.Anyone feel free to correct me if im wrong.
