Default cold air intake

okay so today when i got out of school i went strait to the partstore and talked to the guy on what would give my 99 eclipse a little more @$$ and he told me "put a v8 in it, no replacement for displacement" and started talking crap so i immediately cut him off and told him to stop changing subject, n/e ways it lead down to the path of my buying an AEM cold air intake which was very stupid since i really dont know how to put it on ... im just starting to learn about cars

so now taht you read all that ill tell u all what im asking, i wanna know how to put on my cold air intake onto my 99 eclipse gs, i of course will have an able mechanic watching over me while i do it so i dont screw up my car but id like to look like i know what im doing, and for cold air intake i dont have to change any gaskets or anything liek that do i ?

Well lets go further into it.. I can get to the 11s on my car and I woul only have about $2500 in mods. Alot of domestic cant say that other than new high end domestics.

Either way though if he really is that ignorant to belive that than remind him that Sheps 1G eclipse runs mid 7 second 1\4 miles and traps in the 190 MPH range. There are quite a few EVOs running in the second 1\4s and there are kind of alot of EVOs in the 9s so forget the 10s there are more than you could ever count in the 10s.

There is a replacement for displacement - its a turbo
Dont talk to the guys at the parts stores, most of them dont even know what half the parts on a car do, im not even gonna get into the dumb asses that work at them here. I'll just say i have to take their keyboard from them and show them how to look up the part i want and ive thrown parts acrossthe counter at some of them.
if its non turbo, do anything you can to let it breathe air and it'll have more ***.
