Default Cold air to short ram

im going to be lowerign my car soon and it rains a good steady amount in Fl. and i have a cold air intake on a stock hight eclipse. would it be a bad idea to cut my cold air intake tub shorter kind of making it in to a short ram intake? oppions plz

nope, that'd actually be a pretty good idea, the only difference between the two is the length of the pipe, so cutting it and putting a filter on the end would work great

they also have bypass filters that you put in between theMAS (if you put this after the MAS it will cause rough or surging idle) and the intake filter cone and it prevents it from hydrolocking the engine when you go through a puddle. so either one or BOTH would be great for you

i believe the mass on the rs or gs is on the intake manifold, so i dont think he'd have to worry about that.. besides if you get a lot of rain then just cut it, it's obviously the cheapest way to do it, and it'll work really well

thanks guys i though it might be a good idea , instead fo buying a new short ram, and i have everything i need to cut it. thanks for your guys input.
