Can you detonate the engine like this??? I know in my RX-7 if you hit fuel cut or ran out of fuel during boost ur probly gonna blow the engine. I have a 96 gst is it the same, cus they are a completely different engine???

 

It wont detonate, the ECU shuts the fuel off completely so there no lean condition, theres no fuel at all & cant make any heat that way.

 

Which reminds me. Got another question... If I keep hitting fuel cut, can this cause the head gasket to blow?

 

the RX7 detonates becasue they fuel cut cause the dtycycle is maxed on the injectors so your running out of fuel. the Eclispe does when the air flow readings are high

 

If you keep hitting fuel cut your probly gonna end up busting your transmission like i did. If your hitting it turn the boost down. That **** slammed so hard inmy car it cracked the bell housing and bent the bolts for the motor mounts. Thats the hardest jerk the drivetrain ever got so i doubt its from me launching it, i take it a little easy after exploding the complete drivetrain all over the road.
I never seen detonationwith fuel cut on mine, but its possible. Every car is different and conditions. If your airflow meter maxes out and goes flippy then you'll get lean and make a mess.

 

Well, no more "pedal to the floor" for me! LOL! Either way, i dont floor it much, cause i figure fuel cut would do something eventually. So i am taking it easy, and hopefully buying an SAFC really soon! I could just add that SAFC for now, and solve my fuel cut problem? right....

 

I couldnt get rid of it on my GSX untll i got bigger injectors. Why dont you just turn the boost down? Dont youhave a MBC? If its hooked up like stock then you shouldnt have a problem with fuel cut.

 

It is turned down all the way. Its because i have a burnt injector harness. LOL! Which i am ordering soon...

 

Shouldnt be even running it like that honestly.

 

Well, I am not running it hard at all. Just to get me places pretty much. But everyonce in awhile some ****ing RICER pulls up. And it ticks me off! LOL!
