Default Cracked Dash on 2000 Eclipse

I own a 2000 Eclipse and the dash has started cracking (all the way through) in about 6 places. It is no longer under warranty (just barely) and it is very frustrating that is going on. I have never been in an accident so I am not sure why this is happening. Any ideas on how to get Mitsubishi to fix this? Is this a common problem with this car?

I know this is a couple months after your problem but I just got a bill from Mitsubishi yesterday about a cracked dash. It was a lease turn in. I had a 2000 Eclipse just like you. I called my dealership. They said it is a common problem with the Eclipse.

I got my situation taken care of. I disputed it to the end. I'm paying for what I know I should be paying for. The person who looked the car over is an idiot. They tried to tell me the electric antenna was broken. If anyone has an RS Eclipse, they know that they don't have electric antennas. Then, they tried to tell me the report didn't say electric. I had it right there in front of me. Then, they said it was broken and that the antenna mast was only 6 or 8 inches. I laughed. I told them if they look at the specs on the car, it has a "whip" antenna. It's supposed to be that short. I knew that wasn't broken because I just took it off the day before to clean the car. No one let them beat you on this. Don't let them charge you for a crack in those cheap *** dash boards.
