hey guys i'm gettin ready to rebuild the bottom end of my spare motor for my 4g63 7 bolt, i was lookin at crankshaftes... now i've found eagle's for like 699 and then i came across this one... am i giving up quality to save 300 or are the rods and pistons the things that really count??? check it out http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=5413&

This doesn't answer your question but if i were you, as long as i were trying to build up a spare motor, I would make it rock solid, by using a 6 bolt bottom end.

your right it doesn't answer my question. my engine WILL be Rock solid however if i can save myself 300 here 50 there 100 there i'll most definately do it!!! i just need to know if i'm losing any kind of quality if i go w/ the cheaper brand here, i mean they are both from SBR so i thought they would both be good. i KNOW eagle is an awesome brand but i'm just lookin to save as much money as i can, as anybody else would.

if its a spare motor, and its not necessary, you may as well not skimp on the money for quality. I could see how you would want to skimp a little if you were in a time and money crunch.
Im telling you, and im sure slow and emonz will tell you this too, get a 6 bolt bottom end.

Because ive never bought an aftermarket c shaft, i cant give you advice on that, sorry.

ok, so i've been rebuilding a 7 bolt however i just found a company that will build me an entire 6 bolt fully race motor for a damn good price. the crankshaft question is stil out there but i have another one now. what would i need to replace a 7 bolt with a 6 bolt?
