has anyone used the defi control unit II and subsequent gauges, any input would be nice, thinking about getting some of those.

 

Defi is a quality product, but to have as a "first" mod, IMO, is too much. If you have the money to get products from them, then that's cool, but Autometer is just as good and reliable.
If the look of the smoked lenses and the test sweep is what draws you to them, then maybe you may want to look at Prosport gauges.
They have the backlighting in blue, red, and green. Here's a demo.

I do like Defi as there are a lot of advantages in having that control unit and being able to route all the gauges to it, but honestly, unless you really need it, spend your money elsewhere....unless, you're looking way into the future and you're just buying parts and pieces for the greater good of your mods , otherwise, save the money you will spend on Defi and get "regular" gauges and spend the rest on motor mods

Defi gauges (to my understanding) are like the Mercedes Benz of gauges... you get what you pay for... but they arent cheap.

 

they are one of the best guages and very expensive. I agree with silver. If you want to spend the money then go ahead. Also keep in mind there are alot of "replica" defi guage companies. Dont buy those, they are junk
