He already has big enough injectors in the car for a 20g... I would be looking at a bigger turbo tho, if you truely want to win... You said you have a bigger fuel pump already? You could go with a bigger turbo safely for well under 5,000... You wouldnt have to worry about that.. You could actually go with a lot bigger turbo.. But with a bigger turbo you would have to make sure your injectors could keep up with it/your fuel pump, the hard piping to help air flow, and a nice front mount intercooler to cool that beast of a turbo down... Also you will prolly need a different exhaust manifold, because most of the bigger turbo's mount differently and won't work on the stock exhaust manifold.. You could lose all the extra weight to gain a little bit, but on an average its only about .10 of a second for every 100 lbs of fat you cut down on your car..

I know enough about cars to be dangerous to myself and others... Also yes approximately 100 lbs = .10 but that ALSO depends on the HP of the car. If he's upping HP and reducing weight... Or upping HP by adding bigger beefier parts then removing the extra weight the ways I was talking then his curb weight will stay similar or even be a little lower while making big HP jumps. Besides it's free to rip shyt outta your car yourself. Yeah for 5K I'd say big turbo, FMIC, injectors and fuel pump, FPR (Fuel pressure regulator), boost controller, exhaust manifold, and if you don't have it already 3" exhaust piping. Then take the rest and get some dyno time to get her tuned right.
Meh I know the basics. I don't try to give advice I don't know. Was just saying I always forget to mention tuning whenever someone asks SPECIFICALLY for my opinion, like, my friend Matthias. Tell him some things that he can do to his 300ZX, but always forget to mention tuning.

sang is correct the tuning is the most important thing u could dump 10 grand in to it and not get any were with out someone who knows how to tune the car like u want it to so be carful

Yes get a SACF, you should already have one since you said you where running bigger injectors.
