Hey everyone! I just read the sticky on DSM models and I am wondering why the Galant. According to http://members.shaw.ca/costall/1000Q/ the galant is a DSM as well. Just curious. Pipe in please!

Well, Technically most eclipse's arent dsm's..(Just the older ones) Since the Diamond Star motors dissolved in 93 I believe.. So the cars that were made after that arent "true" DSM's.. (94 and some 95's were actually made before it dissolved..) But people just refer to it as Mitsu's because of the Logo, and the similarities... So when they say they have a 2g DSM or a 3g DSM, they technically don't... And thats why some galants, or all for that matter may get classified in there also...

My theory areal DSM has DSM stickers. not "chrystler" or "Mitsubishi"
I;'m not all sure why a galant was, but i assume it was because they made them in the same plants as the other DSM cars.

DSM's started with the 1st gens.. Then it was ended in 93... So any of them that were made in that time period would be considered a "DSM"
