ORIGINAL: Lil red

IF the tb sucks air from the crank case by the pcv valve would the air really be that muck colder even with a cai on a normal car?
if your worried about the pcv valve what do you think about the egr valve... lol. Like sang said its minimal. The motor its self is hot once the air enters the motor it gets hot.

Exactly not only that but the POINT of a CAI is to reduce the temp of the air going in to reduce overall temp. Think about it this way: I have a pot of boiling water and a pot of ice water. I put them on similar heat for 1 minute which one would YOU stick your hand in afterwards? Every degree cooler the air going in even though it DOES get heated it's STILL a degree cooler than it would have been if warmer air went it.

What good is a yes or no answer if you don't understand the WHY??? If you know WHY then you'll remember the answer later in life and you'll understand the workings of things a bit better. And the more you understand about the engine workings the better you'll be at making it work how it's s'posed to and squeezing out that last bit of HP from it.

So if my valve is clogged it is enough pressure to make my car run rough? I had a bad pcv valve on a sunbird and the car ran like **** at certain speeds and had crappy gas milage. stupid three dollar part.

It shouldn't cause it to run rough. It'll just blow out the valve cover gasket

It would run rough at about 70 mph but if i drove 60 it was fine. changed the pcv valve and it ran fine never had that problem again. It was ohc and i used a rubber gasket with metal inserts around the screw holes.
